      Great question!

Coconut oil is a wonderful food to include, it is one of the only fats (outside of butter) that can be heated at high temperatures and will maintain its structure. I like to include coconut oil in smoothies for a few reasons.

      1. adding a healthy fat to a smoothie helps you to stay fuller but also helps your body better absorb the vitamins from the greens and fruit
      2. coconut oil is very healing to the gut and intestines, can help to heal any sort of inflammation
      3. coconut oil helps to boost the immune system, it is high in lauric acid which is found in breast milk
      4. coconut oil helps to boost the metabolism and heal the thyroid
